A Note on Impulse Buys

Yesterday morning (06-Mar) I received an email from Scott’s Cheap Flights about a special offer from US airports to Johannesburg / Cape Town.

This offer wasn’t going to be around for long, and they offered a return trip journey for between $200 – $400, where they are usually $1,100.

So, being the bargain hunter that I am, I frantically looked for flights to suit my itinerary this Autumn.

Once I found one, as soon as I went through to the confirmation page, it seemed that someone else had snatched the offer from beneath me.

(I was also looking at how to travel across South Africa and how long I should go for – bazbus looks great)

This happened again. I was getting a bit disheartened.

However, I finally got a round-trip ticket, a little more than I wanted to pay ($359 / £292), but…

Looks like I’m going to South Africa in September!

In one cheap trip, I will be going to a new continent, to the Southern Hemisphere for the first time, the most southern I’ve ever been and the most east (in my Ethiopian stop-over)

Peace, BA.
